Bunny

With Easter just around the corner, I decided to make a couple of little bunny masks out of paper and string for the girls.  The masks took about 5 minutes to make (tutorial found here), and brought a good 30 minutes of pretend play.  My oldest was hopping around everywhere like a bunny while my youngest wasn't really sure what to think.  Her mask quickly came off.  Maybe next year it will bring hours of entertainment?

Hope you all have a wonderful Easter.

My baby ain't a baby anymore...

In the last couple of days, it really has hit me.  And I mean hit me like a ton of bricks.  My baby is not a baby anymore.  She is a full fledged toddler, who can do things for herself, make her own decisions, communicate with me, play make believe, the list goes on.  But one of the most amazing things about her is just how compassionate and affectionate this little two year old is.  She has a heart of gold and is so incredibly sensitive.  When I look at her my heart just melts.

Keira - baby girl - I love you.  And I have loved you from the moment I knew you were growing inside me.  I can't believe that two people can make such an incredible being.  I held you in my arms, smelled your sweet breath, hugged and kissed you, right along with your dad.  Then your big sister held you.  Which was such an incredible moment, I am forever grateful to have the both of you.  You have forever changed me, and inspire me to be the best mama I can be.

Now your dad is such an incredible man.  He doesn't exactly love hospitals, so the fact that he was able to focus on capturing the day you were born is more than amazing to me.  I will always have this, to hold in my heart, and remember the day you were born.  I watch this video from time to time.  It brings me to tears every time I watch it.  That day rests so vivid in my mind.  Your dad was able to capture the beginning of your beautiful life.  I am in awe - every single day.

Instagram & iPhone dump

Here's my Instagram and phone dump that I haven't done in ages.  Not gonna lie, these are some of my favorite pictures.  I don't always carry my DLSR with me, because, let's face it.  It's huge.  I really have resorted to taking hundreds of photos of my kids with my iPhone.  And I love it.  The pictures are definitely not perfect and the composition isn't always great, but these are real moments.  Us being in the moment.  Loving and living life.

If you love Instagram as much as I do, you can follow me @graymis.

Seattle Lifestyle Session

For me nothing gets better than photographing a family in their home or someplace special to them.  I love seeing people in their element, comfortable and relaxed.  I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph this adorable family of three a couple weeks ago.  And their little boy...ugh he almost made me want to have a 6 month old boy.  Again - probably because my little bean is now 2 and I'm just realizing we are not having any more children.  Sigh.  I will just have to make up for it by browsing these photos over and over again:)

The Weekend // Seattle Lifestyle Photographer

Ahhh... I love my weekends.  Weekends are all about time with my husband and kids, time well spent, enjoying their company.  I have to soak it all in.  These times fly - way too fast.  I need to stop, breathe, and remember these moments.  Here is a little peek into our weekend a couple weeks ago.
